A Woman After God's Own Heart- Life of David Study

Living in a culture where appearances are everything, it’s easy to hide behind first impressions, picture-perfect profiles, or even good works. But we have a God who sees us and truly knows us…even when no one else is looking. And God wants one thing above all else – our hearts. Unimpressed by the externals, God chose an ordinary person to fulfill His extraordinary purposes because David was a man after God’s own heart. Far from perfect, but honest, dependent and longing to follow God, the life of David gives us a high view of God and a right view of ourselves. Through the overflow of David’s heart, God reveals what matters to Him most.

Yet, we can go a lifetime appreciating these stories and still miss the truth that all of them are telling one great story of God's redemption. We can admire these great heroes of faith, but not understand that they all point to the greatest hero, Jesus.
