what is work crew-01.pngWork Crew is a team of High School Upstream students who support the incredible ministry that happens at Camp Winiwaca. This is one of the most challenging and demanding roles at camp. It includes physical labor, late nights, and early mornings. It includes putting others before yourself at all times, even when it gets hard, when it gets hot, and when you’re completely exhausted. You will take the lead in setting up, tearing down, preparing, and executing many of the constant activities at camp. You will also have ministry responsibilities to students as part of a specific color team, and a specific cabin.

HOW DO I-01.png
Who can Apply for Work Crew?
This group is comprised of 10th-12th grade students who are active and faithful to our body, who have shown spiritual maturity and a desire to grow as servant leaders. It is a chance to learn how to pour yourself out in service to others and be a part of the Kingdom ministry that happens at Summer Camp.

  • Must be a current 10th-12th grade student (Summer incoming Juniors and up)
  • Must faithfully attend High School Upstream and be involved in small group discipleship
  • Must be able to attend all mandatory volunteer trainings
  • Must sign and submit application with parent signatures

Who will be selected for Work Crew?
Due to a limited number of beds available at camp, we simply cannot take everyone who applies for Work Crew. This year, we plan to take 12 students. A number of factors will go into our selection of applicants. No applicant will be considered who cannot attend the mandatory trainings.

Grade Level Priority
We will also give priority consideration based on grade level. 12th, 11th, 10th grade.

Attendance and Participation
We will also give priority consideration to students who have a proven record of faithful attendance and participation within High School Upstream.

expectations-01.pngYour primary motivation for being a part of Work Crew should be service to the Body of Christ and Kingdom of God. It should not be entertainment or hanging out with your friends. This opportunity is one of servant leadership and should be treated as such. Your behavior and general presence can either add to the spiritual environment of camp or can detract from it. Every decision made should be made with spiritual wisdom. If our hearts are focused on Christ then the rules should take care of themselves, but here they are in writing as well.

When you’re on, you’re on. When you’re off, you’re off.
Be where you are supposed to be, when you are supposed to be there.
Guys invest in guys, girls invest in girls.
Do whatever is asked of you with respect and a positive attitude.
Follow all Camper Rules.
No Pranks. No Pranks. No Pranks.

CAMP WINIWACA DATES: June 22 - June 26
