Creek Updates Week of November 5th

CREEK UPDATES

*Thanksgiving Turkey Fry - Men Needed!

We welcome all men on Wednesday, November 21st, 7:00 a.m. at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, as Currey Creek's men join together with other local churches to provide a Thanksgiving meal to over 300 local families in need. We'll see you at the Fairgrounds bright and early. Bring your gas tank and fryer - we'll have the oil and turkeys! If you don't have a fryer, don't worry - come on out and serve with us!

*Fall Service Project - THIS SATURDAY!

We have a service opportunity THIS Saturday, November 10, 2018, serving refugee families during a Fall Festival at Wurzbach Manor in San Antonio. We are partnering with other organizations to provide games, prizes and fellowship to this community of 12 different nations. Set up begins at 9:00 a.m, games will run 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and conclude with a meal will be provided by a Syrian refugee at 12:00. Our goal is to love these families. Sign up to volunteer here. Although Christian churches often come and drop off material goods to refugees, they are surprised that many rarely engage with them. These refugees are hungry for relationships and the connectedness it brings. Language can be a barrier but school children often are able translators for their elders. Sitting in solitude with someone and having a friendly demeanor works, too. Please consider being God's hands and messengers today.
